Man Faces Legal Action for Illegal Goat Grazing in Islamabad’s Margallah Hills National Park

Islamabad: Authorities have launched legal proceedings against an individual found illegally grazing goats within the protected boundaries of Margallah Hills National Park, in direct violation of the Nature Act 2024. The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) swiftly intervened to uphold environmental regulations, relocating the animals to the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Livestock Holding Cell.

Under the Nature Act 2024, all forms of livestock grazing in the national park are prohibited to preserve native flora, protect wildlife habitats, and maintain the region’s fragile ecological balance. The goats, once discovered, were immediately removed from the area as part of a strict zero-tolerance approach to environmental violations.

Officials stressed the seriousness of the breach and warned that similar actions would face full legal consequences. Both the CDA and the Ministry of Climate Change are now coordinating to increase public awareness, enhance monitoring, and ensure continued protection of the park’s biodiversity.
