Building Safer Workplaces in Healthcare and Academia

Federal Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar visited Nishtar Medical University and met Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mehnaz Khan Khakwani alongside senior medical and academic staff, emphasizing the importance of robust institutional measures and stronger internal systems to ensure safety and dignity for healthcare and academic professionals.
During the visit, Ms. Viqar stressed the essential need for effective internal complaint mechanisms at healthcare and academic institutions. She underscored that cultivating secure working conditions for healthcare workers and academic staff is not optional but an absolute imperative for creating environments where employees feel protected and respected.
Furthermore, discussions centered on raising awareness regarding workplace protection laws.
