Commemorative Walk Honors Asim Munir Leadership
Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi held a commemorative walk led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman to acknowledge the sacrifices and successes associated with Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos. Faculty members, administrative officers, students and university employees joined the procession to express solidarity with the armed forces and pay homage to martyrs and national heroes who defended the country.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman praised the armed forces for their courage, professionalism and steadfast dedication in confronting internal and external challenges. He stressed that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its defenders and takes deep pride in their sacrifices for Pakistan’s security and stability.
The Vice Chancellor paid a special tribute to the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, commending his visionary leadership, professional acumen and resolve during Marka-e-Haq. He noted that under Asim Munir’s guidance the nation displayed unity and resilience, and that the chief’s leadership skills and effective military diplomacy have earned notable international recognition.
Emphasising the role of educational institutions, the Vice Chancellor urged universities to cultivate patriotism, national unity and civic awareness among youth so they become responsible citizens contributing to Pakistan’s progress. The event underscored the importance of youth engagement in upholding national integrity and supporting the armed forces.
A flag hoisting ceremony followed the walk, and special prayers were offered for the peace, prosperity and security of the country as well as for the eternal peace of those who sacrificed their lives in defence of the nation. The campus gathering reinforced a collective commitment to remember the fallen and to support the armed forces during times of challenge.
