Finalising Punjab Climate Observatory Plan
A meeting of the Panel of Experts, chaired by Secretary EP&CCD Ms. Silwat Saeed, convened to finalise the draft PC-I for the Punjab Climate Observatory. The session concentrated on sharpening the project framework to boost climate monitoring and ensure reliable, integrated data for provincial planning.
Attendees included AST, DS(Tech), DS(CC), representatives from the Urban Unit, DD(M&E) and IDAP, all of whom provided technical input on monitoring indicators, data-sharing arrangements and governance. Contributors urged practical measures to align agency systems and enhance the observatory’s capacity to deliver actionable information.
Panel members highlighted the need for stronger climate monitoring, improved data integration and evidence-based decision-making to support a more resilient Punjab. The draft PC-I will be revised to reflect the recommendations and prepared for the next stage of approvals to operationalise the Punjab Climate Observatory.
