Promoting Women Kabaddi in Islamabad
The Islamabad Kabaddi Association has appointed Ms. Rakhshanda Tasneem as Vice President of its Women Kabaddi Wing in recognition of her services and commitment to promoting sports across the city.
A notification issued from the Office of the President of the Islamabad Kabaddi Association states that Ms. Tasneem will carry out her duties under the constitution, rules and regulations of the association, with a clear mandate to advance women kabaddi activities in Islamabad.
The appointment, made with the approval of the President of the Islamabad Kabaddi Association, is being viewed as an important move to encourage greater women’s participation in traditional sports and to open new pathways for female athletes at the local level.
The association has also announced plans to organise a Women Kabaddi League soon. The league is expected to provide a formal platform for women players to showcase their talent and to help promote kabaddi among girls and women across the capital.
Officials emphasised that the Women Kabaddi Wing will work to strengthen female participation in the sport and support the sustained growth of women kabaddi in Islamabad communities.
