The minister described the loss as significant for Pakistan\u2019s cultural community and said the Ministry pays rich tribute to his lifelong services.<\/p>\n<p>Syed Arif Jafri was recognised as one of the country\u2019s most renowned flute players and played a prominent role in the promotion of music across Pakistan. He pursued advanced musical education abroad and devoted his life to nurturing and promoting musical talent at home, strengthening the performing arts scene.<\/p>\n<p>The late artist was also an accomplished author, best known for his book <em>Asian Music<\/em>. His remarkable contributions to fine arts and his mentorship of emerging musicians will be remembered by students, peers and cultural institutions throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>The funeral will be held today (Tuesday) at 7:00 p.m. at H-11 Graveyard in Islamabad.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Federal minister mourns Syed Arif Jafri, celebrated flautist and author.
