Islamabad: Pakistan football<\/strong> is set for a major development push after FIFA<\/strong>‘s Vice President committed financial support for the construction of at least two modern football fields in the country. The move was announced during a parliamentary committee meeting where officials also highlighted plans to improve football training, discover young talent and provide better opportunities for players across Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The development was shared during the 13th meeting of the Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC)<\/strong>, held at Parliament House, Islamabad, under the acting chairmanship of Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, MNA.<\/p>\n

Officials from the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination informed the committee that FIFA’s support would help improve football infrastructure in Pakistan by providing international standard facilities for players and teams.<\/p>\n

The committee was told that the new football fields would play an important role in developing young players and improving training standards. Members stressed that Pakistan needs better sports infrastructure if it wants to compete at regional and international levels.<\/p>\n

The ministry also informed lawmakers that a National Coaching Training Programme will begin next month to train young coaches and strengthen sports development at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n

Officials said football and other sports federations are working on school level competitions and talent hunt programmes to identify talented young athletes. These programmes are aimed at encouraging children and providing them with opportunities to develop their skills from an early age.<\/p>\n

The committee was informed that sports equipment, training kits and other facilities are being provided to young athletes through government support, public private partnerships and private sector investment.<\/p>\n

However, lawmakers raised concerns that most sports facilities and training camps are concentrated in Punjab and Islamabad, leaving many talented players from other provinces without proper opportunities.<\/p>\n

The committee directed authorities to ensure equal distribution of sports facilities across Pakistan. Members called for the establishment of modern sports complexes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan so young athletes from these regions can also receive professional training.<\/p>\n

The committee stressed that football development should not be limited to major cities and that players from every province should have access to quality grounds and coaching facilities.<\/p>\n

Officials also informed the committee that Pakistan has increased financial support for athletes representing the country abroad. Daily allowances for national athletes participating in international events have been increased three times.<\/p>\n

Pakistan’s foreign missions have also been directed to assist and facilitate national players during international competitions and help support their professional growth.<\/p>\n

The committee further discussed using additional resources for sports development and recommended that relevant authorities explore ways to increase investment in sports infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Members said that improving football facilities would not only help Pakistan discover talented players but also encourage healthier lifestyles among young people.<\/p>\n

The committee decided to invite provincial sports secretaries in its next meeting to review steps being taken by different provinces for sports promotion.<\/p>\n

Lawmakers emphasized that strong cooperation between federal and provincial governments is necessary to create a long-term strategy for football and other sports in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by members of the National Assembly, including Muhammad Idrees, Babar Nawaz Khan, Anjum Aqeel Khan, Waseem Qadir, Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasar, Haji Rasool Bux Chandio, Syeda Shehla Raza, Dr Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto, Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Khushal Khan Kakar and Khawaja Izhar Ul Hassan, along with officials from the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
