ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) on Saturday hosted a ceremony for the signing of two Letters of Understanding (LoUs) with Nestl\u00e9 Pakistan aimed at promoting nutrition education and healthier lifestyles among children.<\/p>\n
The LoUs were signed between Nestl\u00e9 Pakistan and the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), and between Nestl\u00e9 Pakistan and the Directorate General of Special Education (DGSE).<\/p>\n
The ceremony was attended by Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Nadeem Mahbub, senior officials of the ministry, Nestl\u00e9 Pakistan\u2019s Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Sheikh Waqar Ahmad, Manager Corporate Affairs Zaira Ahmed, and members of the Nestl\u00e9 Pakistan team.<\/p>\n
Under the Nestl\u00e9 for Healthier Kids initiative, the partnerships will focus on nutrition awareness, healthy eating, hydration, hygiene, physical activity, and responsible waste management.<\/p>\n
Through the collaboration with FDE, up to 300 teachers will be trained, benefiting around 10,000 students in federal government schools.<\/p>\n
The partnership with DGSE is designed to train up to 200 faculty members, therapists and multidisciplinary professionals, reaching approximately 2,000 children with special needs. The arrangement also includes the development of inclusive learning materials and the setting up of dedicated resource rooms.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary Nadeem Mahbub appreciated the collaboration and underlined the role of public-private partnerships in improving children\u2019s health, well-being and learning outcomes.<\/p>\n
Sheikh Waqar Ahmad said the partnerships reflected a shared commitment to improving children\u2019s health and well-being through education.
