<\/p>\nUPPER DIR: An emotional reunion of teachers and former students was held on the evening of July 26, 2026, at District Council Public High School, Upper Dir, where alumni paid tribute to their retired teachers and recalled decades-old memories of learning, guidance and affection.<\/p>\n
The school grounds became the centre of a moving gathering as former students, many now established in different professions, welcomed their teachers with respect, garlands, traditional Dir caps, bouquets and applause. The occasion brought together generations linked by the classroom, with students embracing their teachers, kissing their hands and remembering the lessons, discipline and encouragement that had shaped their lives.<\/p>\n
The programme was arranged by a core committee of the Alumni Association, whose members worked for days and nights to make the event possible. Engineer Tariq Babar, president of the Alumni Association, remained central to the arrangements. He played a leading role in bringing the retired teachers together, coordinating schedules and managing the ceremony from the reception of guests to the concluding moments.<\/p>\n
Professor Wajid Raza was acknowledged for giving the idea that the teachers should be invited back to the same school where they had served for years. He also designed the certificates, shields of honour, commemorative gifts and invitation cards, giving the event a graceful and memorable shape.<\/p>\n
Sadiqullah (DSO) supervised gifts, hospitality and arrangements, while Sahibzada Mazharuddin, vice president of the association, added a literary touch through his poetry and emotional speeches. Mufti Nisar gave the gathering a spiritual atmosphere through his presence, and Nigar Hussain looked after the dinner arrangements and hospitality.<\/p>\n
Shah Khalid Khan Hamdani, media in-charge, was recognised for taking the event to an international audience from America. A shield awarded for his journalistic services was received by his children, Anabia, Haleema and Fahad, a moment that moved many participants and reflected how respect for teachers passes from one generation to another.<\/p>\n
Other members, including Zakirullah Safi, Inayatullah, Rashid Ahmed, Asif Iqbal, Asad Iqbal and Arshad Khan, also played an active role in financial matters, provision of materials, arrangements and other responsibilities.<\/p>\n
At the start of the ceremony, special prayers were offered for departed teachers, including respected Ustad Buzurg Ahmed Sahib, Ustad Habibullah Sahib and Ustad Fazl Subhan Sahib. Their honorary shields were received by their sons. The gathering observed a solemn moment, with many former students visibly emotional while remembering their late teachers.<\/p>\n
Among the teachers honoured at the event were Sahibzada Fazlullah Sahib, former principal, Laiq Saeed Sahib, Pir Sher Alam, Fazl Rabbi, Najm ur Rahman, Irshad Shaheen, Shamsuddin Sahib and more than 25 other respected teachers. Their arrival at the school gate was marked by silence, applause and deep respect from their former students.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Sahibzada Fazlullah Sahib said in a trembling voice: \u201cThose children who used to play in my hands are now sitting before me as doctors, engineers, journalists, and professors.\u201d His words and tears deeply affected the gathering.<\/p>\n
The teachers expressed pride over the achievements of their students. The proceedings also included poetry by Mazharuddin Sahib, a ghazal by Gul Ahmed Sahib, a poem by Fazl Arman and a naat by Suhail Sahib, which added emotional and spiritual depth to the programme.<\/p>\n
During the distribution of shields, the atmosphere remained charged with pride and sentiment. Former students honoured each teacher, embraced them and revived memories of their school days. Later in the evening, teachers and students sat together for dinner in the school grounds, creating a scene that many participants described as a return to the past.<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the teachers left the venue with prayers for their students, while the alumni escorted them to their vehicles.
