Islamabad, July 31, 2026: The National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, held the closing ceremony of the National Faculty Development Program (NFDP) Cohort-IX for Interim Placement of Fresh PhDs (IPFP) Fellows at the HEC Secretariat, Islamabad.<\/p>\n
The ceremony marked the successful completion of the three-week professional development programme for the IPFP Fellows.<\/p>\n
Chairman HEC Prof Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar attended the ceremony as chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, the HEC chairman congratulated the fellows and advised them to pursue academic excellence with professionalism, integrity and a lifelong commitment to learning.<\/p>\n
He said Pakistan\u2019s higher education institutions needed competent, innovative and ethically grounded faculty members who could inspire students, promote high-quality research and make a meaningful contribution to the country\u2019s socio-economic development.<\/p>\n
Prof Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar also stressed the importance of further strengthening and transforming the IPFP initiative into a sustainable model with greater emphasis on entrepreneurship. He described teaching as one of the noblest professions and urged the fellows to maintain the highest standards of academic and professional excellence throughout their careers.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Managing Director NAHE Dr Noor Amna Malik, in her welcome remarks, congratulated the fellows on completing the training programme. She urged them to apply the knowledge, innovative teaching methods and professional competencies gained during the programme to improve classroom practice and promote academic excellence.<\/p>\n
Dr Noor Amna Malik reaffirmed NAHE\u2019s commitment to preparing future faculty members with the knowledge, skills and competencies required to meet the changing needs of higher education through quality professional development initiatives.<\/p>\n
During the ceremony, Director NAHE Dr Muneer Ahmed administered the professional oath to the IPFP Fellows.
