ISLAMABAD: President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Atif Ikram Sheikh visited the Embassy of Qatar in Islamabad and held a meeting with Qatari Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the two sides discussed in detail the promotion of trade, economic and investment relations between Pakistan and Qatar.<\/p>\n
Atif Ikram Sheikh appreciated the positive role of the leadership of Pakistan and Qatar in the regional situation and for peace in the region. He also lauded the historic relations between the two brotherly countries.<\/p>\n
He said Pakistan and Qatar\u2019s political, diplomatic, social and economic ties were a matter of pride for both nations. He added that there were vast opportunities to take economic cooperation between Pakistan and Qatar to new heights.<\/p>\n
The FPCCI president invited Qatari investors to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan\u2019s energy, infrastructure, agriculture, information technology, tourism and other sectors.<\/p>\n
Atif Ikram Sheikh said FPCCI would play every possible role in further strengthening private sector linkages between Pakistan and Qatar.<\/p>\n
Qatari Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa appreciated Atif Ikram Sheikh\u2019s efforts for the promotion of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar. The ambassador also expressed the desire to further enhance cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.<\/p>\n
On the occasion, Atif Ikram Sheikh expressed heartfelt condolences and sorrow over the passing away of former Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He also offered condolences to the Qatari ambassador on the death of his father and prayed for the departed souls.<\/p>\n
The FPCCI president said the former Emir of Qatar had played a historic role in strengthening brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar.<\/p>\n
FPCCI Vice President Tariq Jadoon and Chairman Capital Office Kareem Aziz Malik were also present in the meeting.<\/p>\n
