ISLAMABAD, August 4, 2026: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has reaffirmed Pakistan\u2019s unwavering commitment to supporting the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.<\/p>\n
In his message on Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, or Kashmir Exploitation Day, the Speaker said August 5 reminded the world of India\u2019s illegal annulment of Articles 370 and 35-A of its Constitution. He said the move revoked the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and undermined the fundamental rights and distinct identity of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed solidarity with the people of IIOJK and said Pakistan would continue to raise its voice for their legitimate rights and support their just cause at all regional and international forums.<\/p>\n
He said the Kashmiri people had rendered unparalleled sacrifices for their fundamental right to self-determination, freedom and preservation of their identity.<\/p>\n
The Speaker recalled that the state and people of Pakistan, despite political differences, had stood firmly with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters for the last 78 years. He said this unity remained a key strength of the Kashmir struggle and was even more important in the current critical global circumstances.<\/p>\n
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said India\u2019s illegal actions of August 5, 2019 were a blatant violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. He added that Pakistan had consistently rejected these unlawful measures aimed at altering the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir, changing the demographic composition in IIOJK and undermining the identity of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
He said a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute was indispensable for lasting peace, security and stability in South Asia. He stressed that the Kashmir dispute must be resolved in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.<\/p>\n
The NA Speaker urged the international community to take effective notice of grave human rights violations in IIOJK, attempts to alter its demographic composition and restrictions imposed on Kashmiri leadership.<\/p>\n
He said the Parliament of Pakistan had always supported the Kashmiri people\u2019s right to self-determination and had adopted several unanimous resolutions condemning human rights violations in IIOJK and drawing the attention of the international community to the longstanding Kashmir dispute.<\/p>\n
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir was playing an active role in effectively highlighting the issue at the international level and conveying the voice of the Kashmiri people to the global community.<\/p>\n
He said Kashmir Exploitation Day served as a reminder that the identity, history and legitimate aspirations of a nation could not be suppressed through force, coercion or illegal measures.<\/p>\n
On the occasion, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah said Kashmir Exploitation Day reminded the world that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remained a longstanding and unresolved issue on the agenda of the United Nations.<\/p>\n
He said that for more than seven decades, the Kashmiri people had shown unparalleled resilience and rendered immense sacrifices in their struggle for fundamental rights and the right to self-determination, which would always be deeply appreciated by the entire Pakistani nation.<\/p>\n
