Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi has expanded its academic offerings with the launch of a new Department of Fine Arts, focusing on Art and Design. The formal inauguration of the department was led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman, who emphasized the significance of fine arts in a well-rounded education. He highlighted how artists have historically used agriculture as a central theme to reflect cultural traditions, honor natural cycles, and document aspects of rural life. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman also noted that fine arts play a key role in preserving agricultural heritage and raising public awareness about environmental and sustainability issues.<\/p>\n
The event was attended by senior university officials, faculty, and a large group of students, underlining widespread support for the new academic venture.<\/p>\n
Dr. Aneela Afzal, Chairperson of the department, expressed her gratitude to all participants and outlined the department\u2019s vision.
