Pakistan secured more than two dozen agriculture-sector memorandums of understanding worth over $4 billion during a Pak-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing, where Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain held multiple meetings with Chinese and Pakistani agribusinesses and urged expanded investment and exports to China\u2019s $215 billion annual agricultural import market.<\/p>\n
The one-day conference, held alongside the prime minister\u2019s visit to China, included opening and closing ceremonies and a series of business-to-business sessions that brought together public- and private-sector actors from both countries. Delegates signed MoUs across areas of trade, investment and technology transfer aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture.<\/p>\n
Rana Tanveer Hussain took part in about a dozen meetings with leading Chinese and Pakistani firms, meeting representatives from companies such as GDSP Dayu, GDSP Jessica EV, GDSP PIESAT, GDSP LOVOL, Sanyang Company Xinjiang, Jinghua Seed Industry Co. Ltd, Guard Agricultural Research & Services (Pvt) Limited and China State Engineering Construction Corporation GDSP, among others. Discussions covered partnership models, investment plans and collaboration on sector development.<\/p>\n
In his bilateral talks, the minister invited Chinese investors to target mechanization, seed development, smart farming and precision agriculture in Pakistan. He emphasized that data-driven farming technologies and mechanized solutions can boost productivity and help secure the country\u2019s food supply while creating new commercial opportunities for both sides.<\/p>\n
Hussain also highlighted China\u2019s large agricultural import market and argued that Pakistan is well-positioned to serve Chinese demand for tropical and temperate fruits, vegetables and cereals. He pointed to geographic proximity and competitive pricing as advantages over suppliers from Brazil and other Western countries.<\/p>\n
The minister praised recent initiatives by Pakistani and Chinese agricultural companies and reiterated Islamabad\u2019s commitment to fostering long-term agri-sector partnerships with Beijing under the leadership of the federal government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
