Private Schools Network urged immediate action to enforce every child’s constitutional right to free and compulsory education and announced local initiatives to bring out-of-school children into classrooms across Islamabad. At a seminar organized to mark International Literacy Day, the network pledged to form education committees at the union council level, carry out ward-level surveys, and coordinate with public and private schools, local leaders, traders and civil society to boost literacy and ensure basic education and health rights are delivered beyond political lines.<\/p>\n
The seminar, hosted by the Private Schools Network, was addressed by founder and central president Dr. Muhammad Afzal Babar and a panel of education and community leaders, including Advocate Muhammad Shakeel Abbasi, Raja Zahid Dhaniyal, Muhammad Naveed Abbasi, Dr. Masood Naqshbandi and several other officials and activists. Speakers emphasized that free and compulsory education is a constitutional entitlement that successive governments must implement.<\/p>\n
As a concrete step, the network announced plans to establish education committees at every union council in the federal capital. These committees will lead ward-level surveys in areas such as Bara Kahu, Phulgran, Pind and Mira Begwal to identify out-of-school children and arrange their admission to formal classrooms. The organizers said the drive will be supported by both government and private educational institutions to make enforcement of the constitutional right feasible.<\/p>\n
Speakers called for all stakeholders\u2014government bodies, private schools, local leaders, traders and civil society\u2014to take responsibility and collaborate in national educational development. They stressed the need to rise above political affiliations when addressing fundamental rights to education and health.<\/p>\n
