The event, held at a private hotel and organized by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), drew representatives from business, government and diplomatic circles to promote the China International Expo. Speakers outlined how the expo could serve as a platform for Pakistani companies to raise their international profiles and expand market access.<\/p>\n
Atif Ikram Sheikh, president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), emphasized the significant progress in Pakistan-China economic and trade cooperation. He pointed to the recent rise in both exports to and imports from China as evidence of deepening commercial ties and noted a shift in Pakistan\u2019s exports toward higher value-added goods destined for the Chinese market.<\/p>\n
Sheikh described the China International Expo as a rare opportunity to boost bilateral trade and business collaboration, and said the FPCCI is working to ensure strong Pakistani representation at the event so local brands can gain global exposure. He also hailed growing investment flows into sectors such as agriculture, renewable energy, healthcare and infrastructure as encouraging signs for Pakistan\u2019s economic development.<\/p>\n
Alongside praise for investment, Sheikh raised concerns about the security challenges faced by Chinese nationals working and investing in Pakistan, calling for measures to address these issues to maintain investor confidence and protect bilateral projects.<\/p>\n
