According to reports, the strikes targeted senior officials of the Palestinian group Hamas in a residential district of Doha. Qatari authorities say the attack caused civilian casualties, among them a member of the country\u2019s interior ministry, and left several people injured.<\/p>\n
In an official statement, Russia described the operation as an assault on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of an independent state. Moscow said such methods, used by Israel against its opponents, deserve the strongest condemnation and represent an explicit breach of international legal norms and the UN Charter.<\/p>\n
The Russian statement emphasized that the strike came while Qatar was playing a key mediation role in indirect talks between Hamas and Israeli leaders aimed at ending the nearly two-year war in Gaza and securing the release of detainees.
