The National Academy of Higher Education at the Higher Education Commission marked the commission\u2019s 23rd founding anniversary with a ceremony at its premises, attended by Dr. Syed Mahmood Raza, a former HEC advisor and member of the founding team, along with NAHE officials, staff and 27 IPFP fellows.<\/p>\n
Dr. Syed Mahmood Raza praised the HEC\u2019s role in transforming Pakistan\u2019s higher education landscape since its establishment, acknowledging the contributions of universities, faculty, researchers and students. He reiterated the commission\u2019s ongoing commitment to raising standards and expanding opportunities across the sector.<\/p>\n
Dr. Noor Amna Malik, Managing Director of NAHE, emphasized the academy\u2019s priorities as it marks the anniversary: widening access to higher education, supporting cutting\u2011edge research, strengthening institutional governance, and aligning academic programs with the evolving needs of society and the economy. She said NAHE remains focused on initiatives that promote quality, innovation and inclusivity.<\/p>\n
Speaking on behalf of NAHE staff, Director Sulaiman Ahmed reaffirmed the academy\u2019s dedication to renewing and strengthening HEC\u2019s vision and mission. He stressed the need for the commission to respond effectively to the dynamic demands of society, industry and the knowledge economy.<\/p>\n
The event brought together NAHE officers, staff and 27 participants from the IPFP fellowship program, who joined in commemorating more than two decades of progress. The ceremony included a cake\u2011cutting, special tributes to HEC\u2019s founders and leadership, and acknowledgments of partner contributions that have supported the commission\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n
