Chairman Capital Development Authority Muhammad Ali Randhawa met with General Manager SNGPL Adnan Ahmed at the CDA headquarters to review progress on gas pipelines work in Islamabad. Member Environment Asfandiar Baloch and other relevant officers attended the meeting where officials discussed restarting installation in the older Sector G-6 and the Blue Area.<\/p>\n
On the direction of the Managing Director of SNGPL, the General Manager briefed the CDA on steps taken so far to replace corroded lines and the timeline for resuming work. Both sides agreed to expedite the reinstatement of pipeline installation to limit further gas leakage and losses.<\/p>\n
The SNGPL managing director said the long-awaited replacement of dilapidated gas pipelines has begun and emphasized that these upgrades will improve supply reliability across Islamabad. Replacing the aging gas pipelines is expected to reduce leak-related risks and ensure more consistent pressure for consumers.<\/p>\n
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa assured full cooperation to complete the new gas pipelines quickly and noted that CDA\u2019s engineering and environment wings have already issued the necessary NOCs. He stressed the importance of finishing the work before the onset of winter so residents do not face reduced gas supply during colder months.<\/p>\n
The chairman also instructed SNGPL to expedite gas connection work for Gandhara Citizen Centre in F-9 and to immediately halt supply to illegal connections and unauthorized areas. Ensuring lawful, safe connections is part of the coordinated effort to stabilize distribution.<\/p>\n
General Manager SNGPL confirmed the company is implementing effective strategies to improve gas pressure across Islamabad and that all steps to secure adequate winter supply will be completed on schedule.
