The minister highlighted the potential role of ADB in providing both technical and financial support for these reforms.<\/p>\n Secretary for Housing Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh<\/strong> explained that the Land Data Bank aims to create an accurate, accessible registry of federal assets nationwide. He noted that a substantial share of public land remains encroached or underutilised, depriving the state of potential benefits. A GIS-based Land Data Bank will support market valuation, guide private sector investment and enable better land use planning.<\/p>\n Participants praised ADB\u2019s observations on the National Housing Policy 2025 and discussed the bank acting as a technical partner and guarantor for private sector projects. The conversation covered strengthening housing subsidy mechanisms, improving mortgage and housing finance structures, promoting green housing and environmentally suitable construction methods, and piloting low-cost housing models suited to Pakistan\u2019s urban challenges.<\/p>\n The ADB delegation offered targeted recommendations on thematic approaches and priority groups, emphasising the need to reinforce the housing subsidy framework and to consider community-based urban infrastructure models similar to examples from Singapore to maximise inclusion and welfare outcomes.<\/p>\n The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to advance sustainable housing development, modern asset management and inclusive urban structures.
