He emphasised that monsoon preparedness should deliver measurable results for the most vulnerable communities and create a robust mechanism that translates policy into action on the ground.

The NDMA chairman underlined the importance of identifying vulnerable areas and assessing exposure to hazards such as floods, cloudbursts, glacial melt and GLOFs, and landslides. He said preparedness and response must be tailored to these local risks so resilience measures are both practical and effective in Pakistan’s varied terrain.

The Federal Minister noted that the current disaster response system remains fragmented and called for its integration into a single streamlined framework that is quick, coordinated and effective. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to work closely with NDMA and relevant stakeholders to ensure the plan’s formulation and implementation strengthen national capacity for monsoon preparedness.

Officials said the next phase will focus on finalising the implementation roadmap, improving coordination across agencies, and ensuring that resources reach at-risk communities to reduce the humanitarian and economic impacts of the 2026 monsoon season.

Climate Minister and NDMA chair agree a National Resilience Plan to boost monsoon preparedness and protect vulnerable communities ahead of 2026 monsoon.

[94

post-11676","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
["GET
