Speaking as the guest of honor, he warned that Pakistan&#8217;s education system does not meet the demands of the present age and stressed that reform in schooling is the first step toward national progress.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Babar highlighted that where nations have advanced, educational transformation came first. He pressed for collective action to ensure free and compulsory education as a constitutional right so that the new generation can receive modern learning and contribute to national development. He reminded attendees that Pakistan&#8217;s population of 25 crore includes roughly 60 percent youth who must be equipped with future-ready education.<\/p>\n<p>Drawing lessons from international examples such as Japan and Germany, Dr Babar argued that systemic change and investment in teachers and curriculum are essential components of effective education reform. He invoked a historical example, noting that the Prophet Muhammad ensured education for children in Medina, including children of non-Muslim prisoners after the Battle of Badr, to illustrate the long-standing value of inclusive schooling.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to audience questions, Dr Babar said that improvements in public education could accelerate if political leaders enrolled their own children in government schools, but he lamented that public officials currently do not prioritize quality education for the wider population.
