{"id":11975,"date":"2025-10-01T12:49:44","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T12:49:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.peakpoint.pk\/en\/2025\/10\/01\/advancing-women-leaders-negotiation-skills\/"},"modified":"2025-10-01T12:49:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T12:49:44","slug":"advancing-women-leaders-negotiation-skills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.peakpoint.pk\/en\/2025\/10\/01\/advancing-women-leaders-negotiation-skills\/","title":{"rendered":"Advancing Women Leaders Negotiation Skills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Jahan Ara Manzoor Wattoo<\/strong>, Vice Chairperson of the Punjab Social Protection Authority and Chair of the Women Leaders for Social Protection Network (LIS), attended the LIS Networking and Peer Learning Circle Vol I, a workshop focused on Negotiation Skills that brought together senior women leaders from Pakistan, Cambodia, Malawi and Uganda.<\/p>\n<p>Under her leadership the LIS Network rolled out an ambitious three-month action plan combining Peer Learning Circles, a Leadership Toolkit, Mentorship Circles and storytelling platforms to raise visibility, confidence and global impact for women leaders. These initiatives were translated into practical sessions during the workshop that emphasized hands-on negotiation techniques and the deliberate cultivation of professional relationships.<\/p>\n<p>In her opening remarks <strong>Jahan Ara Manzoor Wattoo<\/strong> reflected on assuming the role of LIS Chair at the network launch in Frankfurt in July 2025 and stressed that negotiations often take place in unequal settings where women face extra resistance and bias. She noted that the loudest voice is not always the most rational and that progress depends on measured, well\u2011considered dialogue and strategy.<\/p>\n<p>She underlined that Negotiation Skills are not simply about winning an argument but are essential for building alliances, developing changemakers and ensuring women\u2019s issues are integrated into policy decisions. Participants were encouraged to combine consistency, patience and timing with rational argumentation to capture audiences, educate champions and create space for others to lead.<\/p>\n<p>In closing, <strong>Jahan Ara Wattoo<\/strong> thanked GIZ, the World Bank and global partners, and expressed appreciation to colleagues and leaders who continue to support efforts to empower women and protect vulnerable communities.
