The event gathered stakeholders across government, development partners, industry and academia to push Pakistan&#8217;s plastic pollution agenda forward.<\/p>\n<p>The session opened with an overview of the development of the National Plastic Waste Management Plan delivered by the Senior Research Analyst from the Project Secretariat, followed by opening remarks from representatives of the World Bank and the Ministry of Climate Change &#038; Environmental Coordination (Pak-EPA). A Plastic Waste Management Expert presented the goals, targets and planned activities of the plan while a Policy Expert detailed the proposed implementation, monitoring and reporting mechanism.<\/p>\n<p>A panel discussion explored the role of policy in driving recycling investment, featuring voices from policy makers, recycling companies and academic institutions, who discussed how clear regulatory signals and practical monitoring tools can attract private sector involvement. The workshop concluded with a Q&#038;A session and a vote of thanks from the Director of Pak-EPA, reinforcing the importance of coordinated action and data-driven oversight.<\/p>\n<p>Participants emphasized that the Plastic Waste Plan must be supported by robust IT-enabled monitoring to ensure transparency, measure progress against targets and guide investment in recycling infrastructure.
