The agreement was signed by <strong>Ambassador Sohail Mahmood<\/strong>, Director General ISSI, and <strong>Professor Dr. Anis Ahmad<\/strong>, Vice Chancellor Riphah International University, with senior delegates including Professor Dr. Rashid Aftab and Dr. Neelum Nigar in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Sohail Mahmood highlighted the shared vision between the two institutions and underlined the potential of the ISSI Riphah collaboration to strengthen research and human resource development in Pakistan. He said academic practice and policy formulation must complement one another, and stressed the importance of meaningfully engaging youth in discussions on domestic and international challenges so they can help convert risks into opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The areas of cooperation detailed at the ceremony include public policy, climate change and water security, evolving dynamics in South Asia, the influence of Hindutva on the regional environment, global Islamophobia, and a broad spectrum of non-traditional security challenges. These priorities reflect a focus on policy-relevant scholarship and practical training for emerging professionals across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Dr. Anis Ahmad emphasized that joint projects in research, training, dialogue and publication will be central to the partnership. He urged Pakistani academia and policy practitioners to adopt strategic, long-term thinking and to decolonize academic thought and practices as part of a cohesive approach to national development and policy formulation.<\/p>\n<p>The MoU also reinforces ISSI&#8217;s NextGen initiative by creating a bridge to students, faculty and policy practitioners through internships, joint research projects, academic exchanges and public forums.
