The Business Incubation Center at Fatima Jinnah Women University, in collaboration with the Women Development Department, hosted an in-house University-Based Entrepreneurial Youth Competition that saw 25 students submit innovative business ideas as part of the CM Entrepreneurial Female Pitch Competition. The initiative aimed to strengthen the pipeline of women entrepreneurs by providing a campus platform to test and refine market-ready concepts.<\/p>\n
Following directions from the Women Development Department, a Selection Committee made up of esteemed faculty members, entrepreneurship and innovation experts, and the nominated focal person reviewed the submissions to identify the top two business ideas that will advance to the provincial round. The competitive event was designed to identify ventures with strong potential for growth and social impact while building entrepreneurial capacity among young women.<\/p>\n
Jury members who evaluated the pitches included Dr Abdul Wahab, entrepreneurship educator and ILO-SIYB trainer and faculty at School of Management, FAST-NUCES Islamabad; Mr Azm Aftab, Head of EPCAD at Beaconhouse International College and career counsellor; Dr Hina Gul, entrepreneurship educator and CEO of La Fleur; Ms Humera Sadia, focal person from the Women Development Department at FJWU; Ms Hina Anjum representing FJWU BIC; and Dr Sidra Salam as the ORIC representative. Their combined expertise guided a rigorous selection process focused on feasibility, innovation, and scalability.<\/p>\n
Participants presented thoughtful pitches spanning Digital and IT solutions, Health and Wellbeing, Creative Industries, and Green Businesses, demonstrating the breadth of ideas emerging from the university. The event highlighted how practical mentoring, institutional support, and competitive exposure can accelerate the journey of women entrepreneurs from concept to execution.<\/p>\n
The competition concluded successfully and the top two winning business ideas will be announced soon, with the selected ventures set to represent FJWU at the Provincial Finale of the CM Entrepreneurial Female Pitch Competition.
