The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, through the Common Management Unit for AIDS, TB and Malaria (CMU) and in collaboration with the World Health Organization, carried out a TB review mission from 9\u201316 July 2025 to assess epidemiological trends and program performance across Pakistan.<\/p>\n
The mission concluded with a high-level debriefing at the Ministry where the team presented key findings and strategic recommendations designed to strengthen TB surveillance and guide future programmatic planning. The recommendations from the TB review mission aim to support evidence-based decision making at national and provincial levels.<\/p>\n
During the in-country visit the team travelled to Lahore and held a coordination meeting with the Director General Health Punjab at the DG Health Office. Field visits were conducted to major TB care and diagnostic sites to evaluate service quality, review data systems and examine private sector engagement in case detection and treatment.<\/p>\n
Outcomes from the TB review mission will inform the development of Pakistan\u2019s upcoming National Strategic Plan for TB and will feed into future grant proposals to the Global Fund, helping to align resources with identified gaps and priorities in TB control across the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
