The Punjab Information Technology Board has formalised a contract with the Energy Department Punjab to automate key business regulations under the ADP scheme titled Automation of Business Regulations Pertaining to the Office of CE (Power) & Issuance of e-Test Reports. The agreement positions PITB as the technical partner responsible for system development and management to deliver improved digital services for the energy sector.<\/p>\n
The contract signing was presided over by PITB Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif and was executed on behalf of both organisations by PITB Director Development & Procurement Ata ur Rehman and Energy Department Punjab Director Technical Zafar Abbas. PITB Joint Director Ishfaq Jutt and Manager QA & Training Umar Javed attended alongside the Energy Department\u2019s Chief Engineer Muhammad Yaseen, Director Technical IIqbal Tahir and Deputy Director Technical Azeem Sajid.<\/p>\n
Under the project, the primary goals include automating the issuance and availability of the No Objection Certificate for the business community as well as digital handling of e-Test Reports and Periodic Inspection Reports. By digitising these processes, the initiative aims to streamline approvals and reporting, reducing paperwork and turnaround times while improving transparency across the energy sector.<\/p>\n
PITB will develop and manage the new system and will deploy the solution across all electricity Distribution Companies in Punjab.
