On October 17, 2025 in Multan, Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada inaugurated the new sports facility at Royal Institute of Medical Sciences, marking a significant step for campus life as the RIMS sports complex opens its doors to students.<\/p>\n
The minister emphasized the importance of promoting sports and healthy activities among students, noting that regular physical activity supports both physical health and mental development. He praised the institute management for investing in facilities that complement academic programs and encouraged wider student participation in athletics and fitness initiatives across the campus.<\/p>\n
Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada also commended the college administration for reserving quota seats for underprivileged students from Khairpur Tamewali and Hasilpur, underscoring the local impact of the project and the role of the RIMS sports complex in creating broader educational opportunities for disadvantaged communities.<\/p>\n
Recalling his earlier role as Sports Minister, the minister highlighted a memorable period when Pakistan secured 37 medals during his brief tenure, framing that achievement as evidence of the potential that comes from prioritizing sport.
