ISLAMABAD, October 21, 2025 \u2014 Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Broadcasting, attended the launch at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad of the book Jammu and Kashmir – The Forgotten Narrative<\/em>, authored by Saud Sultan and organised by ISSI’s India Study Centre.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Ambassador Masood Khan, former President of the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who joined as Guest of Honour. Barrister Chaudhry commended Saud Sultan for reviving an overlooked strand of history and said the book provides much needed context to the ongoing discourse on Kashmir.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the importance of scholarly inquiry, Barrister Chaudhry said ‘This book serves as an essential antidote to the historical amnesia imposed on the struggle of the Kashmiri people’ and underlined how rigorous research can strengthen the Kashmir narrative against distortion and disinformation.<\/p>\n

The Parliamentary Secretary reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting intellectual freedom and ensuring that the just voice of the Kashmiri people is amplified across national and international platforms. He praised ISSI and its India Study Centre for providing a forum where scholarship and debate inform policy and public understanding.<\/p>\n

Speakers at the launch noted that work like Saud Sultan’s contributes to a resilient, fact-based Kashmir narrative that is crucial for Pakistan’s engagement on the issue.
