Federal Minister for Defence <strong>Khawaja Muhammad Asif<\/strong> formally opened the route, attended by British High Commissioner <strong>Jane Marriott<\/strong>, Secretary Defence General (R) <strong>Muhammad Ali<\/strong>, Director General Civil Aviation Authority <strong>Nadir Shafi Dar<\/strong> and senior Defence and Aviation officials.<\/p>\n<p>The launch of the Islamabad Manchester flights is framed by the government as part of broader efforts to revive national institutions, improve public services and sharpen Pakistan\u2019s global image. The minister said the direct connection will deliver tangible convenience to the sizeable Pakistani community in the United Kingdom and strengthen people\u2011to\u2011people ties.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Asif praised the CAA, the Aviation Division and PIA management for their professionalism and persistence in making the route operational. He said the success reflects effective policy measures and close inter\u2011institutional coordination that cleared regulatory and operational hurdles.<\/p>\n<p>PIA\u2019s new Islamabad Manchester service is expected to boost trade, tourism and cultural exchange while reducing travel time and transit complexity for passengers travelling between Pakistan and Britain.
