The National Productivity Organization Pakistan partnered with the Asian Productivity Organization Japan to deliver two-day workshops on ISO 56000 across Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, aiming to strengthen innovation management capacity in both public and private sectors. Conducted under the APO In-Country Technical Expert Service (TES) Program, the sessions supported APO Vision 2025 goals to boost innovation, productivity, and competitiveness in member economies.<\/p>\n
Facilitated by German experts Dr. Eva Diedrichs and Mr. Claus Diedrichs, the workshops focused on practical approaches to institutionalize innovation management, embed cultural enablers, and align strategy with ISO 56000 principles. Dr. Diedrichs brought extensive experience from global consulting and ISO standards work, while Mr. Diedrichs shared decades of industry leadership and product innovation insights.<\/p>\n
Organised with the Pakistan Engineering Council in Islamabad and the Pakistan Institute of Quality Control in Lahore and Karachi, the program drew officials from key federal ministries and national institutions including the Ministry of Industries and Production, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Planning Development and Special Initiatives, PSQCA, PHA and SMEDA, among others. Sessions highlighted tools and best practices for embedding ISO 56000 into organisational processes.<\/p>\n
Participants engaged in interactive discussions on building innovation capability, linking digital transformation and industry 4.0 priorities with practical innovation management steps. The workshops emphasised how ISO 56000 can help Pakistani organisations transition toward knowledge-based productivity and sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n
By strengthening local expertise through this collaboration, NPO Pakistan reinforced its commitment to advancing innovation management across national institutions and industries.
