A doctor in Phaltan, Satara district, Maharashtra died by suicide after writing an alleged final statement on her palm that named a police officer and another man and accused them of sexual assault and harassment. According to family accounts, the doctor had repeatedly submitted complaint letters to the DSP and SP over the past two years detailing harassment. Police have said they arrested a suspect identified as Prashant Bankar in Pune after the doctor\u2019s death. Authorities produced him in court and secured his custody for four days until 28 October while investigations continue.
