The Higher Education Commission concluded a three-day capacity-building and follow-up session at its Regional Centre in Lahore aimed at improving HEC data quality from affiliated colleges. The workshop gathered focal persons from higher education institutions with affiliated colleges to ensure consistent and comprehensive reporting for national policy-making.<\/p>\n
Led by HEC’s Higher Education Data Repository (HEDR) Division, the programme focused on capacity building for affiliated colleges data covering FY 2023-25, follow-up with institutions that had pending or discrepant submissions, and deliberative sessions providing technical support and clarifications. Trainers worked directly with institutional focal persons to resolve data discrepancies and standardise submission practices.<\/p>\n
Director General HEC Lahore regional centre Mr. Ghulam Nabi<\/strong> emphasised the strategic importance of reliable information, noting that accurate HEC data underpins informed decision-making at provincial and federal levels. In-charge HEDR Division Dr. Bashir Khan<\/strong> highlighted the critical need for credible statistics to serve the Prime Minister’s Office, Federal Ministries and other high-level forums involved in education planning.<\/p>\n The sessions reinforced HEC’s commitment to collaboration, capacity building and transparency across Pakistan’s higher education sector.
