An estimated 40,000 to 50,000 visitors packed the Lok Virsa grounds on the fourth day of Lok Mela 2025, creating a vibrant showcase of folk music, traditional crafts and communal celebration across Islamabad.<\/p>\n
A principal moment of the day came when US Ambassador to Pakistan Ms. Natalia A. Baker toured artisan stalls, spoke with folk craftsmen and observed live performances. Accompanied by Lok Virsa Executive Director Dr. Muhammad Waqas Saleem<\/strong>, the Ambassador praised the richness of Pakistan’s cultural heritage and the technical skill of local artisans while learning about efforts to preserve traditional crafts on site.<\/p>\n The evening at the Open Air Theatre brought the Lok Virsa Cultural Fusion Night, where performers from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir shared a unified programme. Energetic dhol rhythms, expressive regional dances and colourful traditional costumes combined to underline the spirit of cultural harmony that Lok Mela seeks to promote.<\/p>\n Visitors spent the day moving between artisan stalls, tasting regional cuisines and joining interactive sessions featuring live craft demonstrations, folk theatre and storytelling corners for children. The Punjab, Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan pavilions proved especially popular, drawing long queues of guests eager to see embroidery, handmade artifacts and regional workmanship.<\/p>\n Media representatives, influencers and cultural bloggers covered activities throughout the day, amplifying Lok Mela’s message of revival and inclusivity. Organisers noted strong public turnout and said the festival continues to provide vital exposure for artists, craftsmen and performers from across the country.<\/p>\n Lok Mela will run daily at Lok Virsa, Shakarparian, Islamabad until 16 November 2025, open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
