About 100 Higher Education Commission officers completed a landmark capacity-building programme delivered through a first-time collaboration between the National Academy of Higher Education and the Civil Services Academy, Lahore. Five cohorts of officers, including Director Generals, Directors, Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors from HEC offices nationwide, took part in the blended learning initiative aimed at strengthening institutional leadership and governance.<\/p>\n
The programme was conceptualised by Managing Director NAHE Dr. Noor Amna Malik<\/strong> and designed by Deputy Director (NAHE) Ms. Sadia Bukhari<\/strong> following a detailed assessment of competency gaps across cadres. The curriculum focused on governance excellence, ethical leadership, strategic and financial management, policy formulation, project planning and effective communication, while also addressing emotional intelligence, stress management and professional ethics.<\/p>\n Delivered under the theme “Classroom and Beyond”, the training adopted a blended approach that combined classroom lectures, case-based discussions and experiential learning to help participants translate theory into practical improvements in service delivery. The design and facilitation benefitted from close coordination between NAHE and CSA, with high-quality learning content and expert trainers contributing to an intensive and applied learning experience.<\/p>\n At the closing of the senior management cohort, HEC Chairman Nadeem Mahbub<\/strong> praised the initiative and commended NAHE for proactively enhancing the Commission\u2019s professional capacity. He described the NAHE-CSA partnership as a historic milestone that reflects HEC\u2019s commitment to human capital development and said structured, competency-based training like this is essential for better governance and policy implementation in higher education.<\/p>\n Director NAHE Dr. Munir Ahmed<\/strong> highlighted the collaboration as a model of inter-institutional partnership for national capacity building and noted that this marked the first time HEC outsourced employee training to a premier national training institution.
