The minister welcomed the delegation and described the project as a timely, transformative step for Pakistan&#8217;s seed potato sector.<\/p>\n<p>Rana Tanveer Hussain noted that Pakistan cultivates potatoes over large areas but currently depends on imports to meet the demand for certified seed. He said the SPPSC is designed to enable domestic production of high-quality seed potato, significantly reducing import reliance. The minister highlighted that adopting aeroponics and tissue culture technology from Korea can modernize the seed system and has the potential to raise production by at least 20 percent while ensuring virus-free certified seed reaches more than 100,000 farmers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KOICA Director Jae Ho Yoon<\/strong> praised PARC\u2019s research on seed potato and reaffirmed Korea\u2019s commitment to transfer expertise in aeroponics, advanced cold chain systems and laboratory infrastructure. Mr. Yoon explained that the project will not only boost local seed production but also strengthen institutional capacity through modern training programs, ERP systems, traceability and improved post-harvest management.<\/p>\n<p>The minister underlined that the government welcomes international collaborations that bring technology, knowledge and innovation directly to farmers.
