Young voices and creativity took centre stage at a vibrant World Childrens Day celebration organised in partnership with the National Commission on the Rights of Child. Children travelled from across Pakistan to share their talents and perspectives, making clear why World Childrens Day remains a critical platform for child participation and rights.<\/p>\n
Participants delivered powerful theatre performances that explored children’s rights and resilience, while delegates at the Youth Parliament presented thought-provoking messages that reflected grassroots concerns and aspirations. A highlight of the day was a special new song on digital safety, written and recorded by children for children, which underscored emerging priorities for young people in an increasingly online world.<\/p>\n
UNICEF expressed deep gratitude to Ayesha Raza Farooq<\/strong>, Chairperson of the NCRC, for her leadership and to the many supporters who joined the event, including government representatives, members of the NCRC Child Advisory Panel, students from public, private and special education institutions, and civil society partners. The event was honoured by the presence of Barrister Aqeel Malik<\/strong>, Minister of State for Law and Justice, and Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar<\/strong>, Minister for Human Rights and Law and Justice, whose remarks reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to advancing child rights in Pakistan.<\/p>\n The confidence, courage and clarity shown by the children offered a powerful reminder that young people must be at the forefront of discussions and decisions affecting their lives.
