The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has vowed to protect students’ academic futures and assured stakeholders that no decision will undermine rights, merit, or opportunities as part of ongoing PMDC reforms. The Council acknowledged the concerns raised in a recent parliamentary meeting and said it is focused on practical, long-term measures to ease student and parent anxieties.<\/p>\n
Under the PMDC reforms the Council stressed that examination standards across all medical and dental institutions will remain uniform, transparent, and fair. It is advancing digitalization and standardization efforts to ensure consistent assessment and equal, merit-based opportunities for every candidate regardless of institution or schooling background.<\/p>\n
To address vacant seats the Council confirmed active collaboration with universities and the Law Division to develop a legally sound approach that prevents seat wastage and secures timely placement of eligible candidates. The initiative is being treated as a priority reform to maximise admissions and make sure deserving students are not deprived of available openings.<\/p>\n
PMDC also highlighted its coordination with the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen to protect fairness between Cambridge-system and local board students. The Council underlined that equitable grade conversion and academic facilitation for foreign-system students are essential components of these reforms and will be handled with utmost seriousness.<\/p>\n
Describing students as an integral part of the country\u2019s medical education system, the Council reiterated its commitment to defending academic interests at every forum. All decisions will continue to be informed by merit, transparency, and national standards as the PMDC reforms progress.<\/p>\n
The regulator said it remains student-centered and professional while strengthening Pakistan\u2019s medical and dental education framework to meet international benchmarks.
