The team was led by <strong>Ms. Nadia Shafique<\/strong>, Senior Chief Environment, and focused on sharing practical measures and lessons learned between the provinces.<\/p>\n<p>In meetings with the Additional Chief Secretary KPK and the Secretary of the P&#038;D Department KPK, KP officials outlined the impacts of recent floods, concerns over glacial melt, and shifting climate patterns affecting the province. Punjab officials presented their major environmental initiatives, including the Smog Related &#038; Sectoral Action Plan, the zig-zag brick kiln conversion programme, incentives to discourage stubble burning, enhanced air-quality monitoring, and strict enforcement against open waste burning.<\/p>\n<p>The delegation also met Deputy Commissioner Swat <strong>Saleem Jan Marwat<\/strong>, who described district-level rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts during the recent floods and the on-the-ground challenges for local administrations. These discussions provided a practical context for how provincial policies translate into district response and recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Both provinces agreed to expand inter-provincial cooperation, deepen technical collaboration and build institutional partnerships to advance climate resilience and improve environmental management.
