Speakers highlighted the plan’s emphasis on self-reliance, green development and innovation as key entry points for cooperation that Pakistani stakeholders should actively pursue.

Mustafa Hyder Sayed framed self-reliance as a strategic pivot in China’s recent political messaging, noting that it opens room for Pakistan to deepen engagement through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He urged policymakers to create a stable security environment to attract relocating Chinese industries and stressed that CPEC offers a ready-made mechanism to receive medium-sized enterprises seeking new markets.

Panelists pointed to China’s leadership in electric vehicles, renewable energy and other green technologies as timely opportunities for Pakistan, an agrarian country vulnerable to flash floods and droughts. The China Five-Year Plan’s green agenda was presented as a template for joint projects that can strengthen resilience, modernise agriculture and expand clean energy capacity.

Nabila Jaffer outlined the evolving planning process behind the China Five-Year Plan, describing it as multi-sectoral and inclusive from grassroots to national levels. She traced China’s shift from early investments in health and education to market reforms and global integration, arguing that Pakistan can learn from those phased reforms while tailoring collaboration to local needs.

Journalist Sehrish Qureshi emphasised innovation as a core driver for Pakistan to gain from the China Five-Year Plan. She argued that technology partnerships have already helped strengthen national security capabilities and called on media and trainers to counter misinformation about CPEC through fact-based reporting, particularly in regions such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Social media influencer Jehad Zafar urged influencers and reporters to highlight the positive impacts of Chinese projects and to dispel unfounded criticism. He said that industrial relocation from provinces such as Guangdong and Zhejiang presents a real window of opportunity if Pakistan improves its business climate and workforce skills, noting that regional groupings and peace efforts will further facilitate connectivity.

Yang Nuo, Minister Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy, praised the strong youth turnout and welcomed practical suggestions to enhance people-to-people ties. He encouraged continued communication to address fake news and supported plans for an influencers’ forum to promote responsible narratives. He also cautioned that while CPEC is important, sustained investment and a conducive environment from both sides are essential for long-term success.

The forum brought together students, researchers, media professionals and podcasters who discussed pathways for youth development, green technology adoption and industrial relocation under the China Five-Year Plan. Participants emphasised skills development, improved security and collaborative policy-making as immediate priorities for converting plan-level opportunities into on-the-ground projects across Pakistan.

Speakers agreed that the China Five-Year Plan presents actionable possibilities for Pakistan’s youth and economy but stressed that realising them will require a coordinated approach across government, private sector and civil society to attract investment, transfer technology and build resilient, green infrastructure.

Explore how the China Five-Year Plan can boost Pakistan’s youth, green growth and industrial relocation through CPEC and innovation partnerships.

[94

post-15054","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
["GET
