A Higher Education Commission delegation from Pakistan completed a 12-day academic mission in Bangladesh, formally launching the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor and organising education exhibitions to present study and research opportunities in Pakistan. The delegation included HEC officials and representatives from 15 Pakistani universities who engaged directly with students, parents and academic leaders across multiple campuses.<\/p>\n
The mission concluded with a detailed meeting at the University Grants Commission headquarters in Dhaka where Chairman Prof. SMA Faiz met the Pakistani delegation alongside UGC members Prof. Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan, Prof. Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Prof. Md. Saidur Rahman, Prof. Masuma Habib and Secretary Md. Fakhrul Islam. Project Director HEC Jehanzeb Khan outlined areas for collaboration in higher education and research under the Knowledge Corridor framework.<\/p>\n
During discussions Jehanzeb Khan presented the offer of 500 fully-funded scholarships<\/strong> for Bangladeshi students at undergraduate and doctoral levels, highlighting the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Programme as a central component of the Knowledge Corridor initiative. The scholarship package aims to increase academic mobility and strengthen institutional linkages between Pakistan and Bangladesh.<\/p>\n The Pakistan Higher Education Expo 2025 formed the public face of the visit, with events held at the University of Dhaka, Shahjalal University of Science & Technology Sylhet, Southern University Chittagong, Rajshahi University and the University of Chittagong. Exhibitions provided a platform for Bangladeshi students to discuss programme options, admissions processes and research collaboration with representatives from leading Pakistani universities.<\/p>\n Organisers reported an overwhelmingly warm response from Bangladeshi authorities and the wider public, with thousands of visitors including school principals, educators, parents and prospective students attending the expos and outreach sessions. The high turnout underscored growing interest in Pakistan\u2019s higher education sector and reinforced the potential of the Knowledge Corridor to inspire more Bangladeshi youth to pursue studies across the border.<\/p>\n Both sides emphasised next steps focused on quality assurance, joint research projects and student exchange mechanisms to ensure the Knowledge Corridor translates into sustained academic cooperation.
