On 15 December 2025 a 23-member delegation of section officers undergoing pre-service training visited Parliament House in Islamabad accompanied by their faculty. The delegation was warmly received by senior officials of the Senate Secretariat who welcomed the group and facilitated the study visit.<\/p>\n
Joint Secretary IPR Harith Rahman<\/strong> provided a comprehensive briefing on the workings of the upper house. The session covered Senate procedures, stages of lawmaking, the conduct of house business, budget-related matters and the role of provincial assemblies in the election of members. The briefing also explained joint sittings, the preparation and presentation stages for bills and distinctions between private and government bills.<\/p>\n The delegation was acquainted with the functioning of Senate standing committees and the broader committee mechanism that supports legislative oversight. Emphasis was placed on practical procedures and institutional roles to give section officers a clearer understanding of parliamentary operations at Parliament House.<\/p>\n As part of the programme the visitors toured the Senate Museum, the Gali-e-Dastoor and the Senate Hall. At the Senate Museum they viewed an informational documentary detailing the history of the parliament, constitutional functions and the legislative process. The tour of the Senate Hall included briefings on parliamentary traditions and the daily working rhythm of the house.<\/p>\n Members of the delegation described the study visit to Parliament House as highly informative and beneficial for their professional development.
