The CUST convocation highlighted the university&#8217;s expanding role in producing skilled professionals for Pakistan&#8217;s economy.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Minister for Railways <strong>Hanif Abbasi<\/strong> attended as chief guest while Executive Director <strong>Prof Sohail Afzal<\/strong> presided over the ceremony. <strong>Prof Dr Mansoor Ahmed<\/strong>, Vice Chancellor of the university, welcomed the graduates and underlined the institution&#8217;s contribution to higher education, stressing that education raises productivity and builds the skilled manpower needed to drive national development.<\/p>\n<p>In his address, Hanif Abbasi emphasized that education is the key to success and called for unity across provinces and communities to foster national progress. He paid tribute to the Armed Forces, noting the country stands united in defending its sovereignty and dignity, and urged citizens to set aside personal differences in pursuit of national development.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-five candidates received PhD degrees across multiple disciplines. In Management Sciences the newly minted doctors include <strong>Muhammad Ali Malik<\/strong>, <strong>Fizza Asif<\/strong>, <strong>Anum Shafique<\/strong> and <strong>Mahboob Khan<\/strong>. Doctorates in Electrical Engineering were conferred on <strong>Waqas Toor<\/strong>, <strong>Mohsin Ullah Qumrish<\/strong> and <strong>Arooj<\/strong>. Civil Engineering PhDs include <strong>Sajjad Shuker Ullah<\/strong>, <strong>Aaroon Joshua Das<\/strong>, <strong>Mustafa Sultan<\/strong> and <strong>Usman Shahid<\/strong>. In Computer Science the doctoral recipients include <strong>Ibrar Ahmed<\/strong>, <strong>Bilal Khan<\/strong>, <strong>Ehtsham Irshad<\/strong> and <strong>Shahid Khan<\/strong>, while mathematics awarded doctorates to <strong>Shahana Rizvi<\/strong> and <strong>Areej Fatima<\/strong>. Biosciences PhD graduates named at the convocation include <strong>Qasim Khan<\/strong>, <strong>Sobia Khurshid<\/strong>, <strong>Naveed Soomro<\/strong>, <strong>Faiqa Rashid<\/strong>, <strong>Imran Khan<\/strong>, <strong>Iqra Bashir<\/strong>, <strong>Rukhsana Tabassum<\/strong> and <strong>Sabahat Javid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Ninety students who topped their degree programs received gold, silver and bronze medals for academic excellence. The prestigious Jinnah Gold Medal for the best overall performance was awarded to <strong>Qurat-ul-Ain Fatima<\/strong> of the BS English program, recognising her achievement as the convocation\u2019s top graduate.<\/p>\n<p>The CUST convocation underscored the university\u2019s commitment to quality education and the development of a workforce equipped for Pakistan\u2019s evolving economic needs.
