An Urs ceremony in Gul Afshan Colony, Jhelum Cantt commemorated Alhaj Major Nawab Khan Janjua, his late mother and Tariq Mahmood Janjua (martyred). The event, centred on faith and remembrance, was organised by Khadim Raja Sarfraz Akram and attracted religious scholars, naat reciters and community leaders from across the district.<\/p>\n
The programme began with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an led by Qari Khurram Shehzad, setting a solemn tone for the Urs ceremony. Renowned naat khawans including Qari Ali Usman Hujwiri, Qari Muhammad Shehzad, Mehr Muhammad Akram, Khalid Bhatti, Khalid Mahmood Qadri, Abdul Razaq Jami, Shehzada Saif al-Maluk Sheikh, Wasim Abbas of Bari Imam House and Alhaj Shehzad Hanif Madni of Lahore inspired the congregation with devotional poetry.<\/p>\n
Sahibzada Rizwan Khalid served as the event’s master of ceremonies while Khadim Darbar Hazrat Bari Imam and Dargah Hazrat Kalu Baba Mansar Camp, Raja Sarfraz Akram, handled arrangements. The gathering saw participation from former MNA Rana Nazir Ahmed, Member Land Raja Imtiaz Janjua, Dr Riaz Janjua, Brigadier Raja Asif Janjua, Hafiz Raja Ejaz Janjua, Raja Shehzad Raja Faiq Wasim and other political and social figures who paid their respects.<\/p>\n
Speakers and attendees highlighted the spiritual legacy of the Janjua family and the role of such gatherings in strengthening community bonds. The Urs ceremony included heartfelt naats and collective prayers, reflecting the local tradition of remembrance and devotion.<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the Urs ceremony, special prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed, including Raja Muhammad Akram Shaheed, and for the prosperity and honour of the country.
