On January 1, 2026, the Quality Assurance Agency of the Higher Education Commission successfully concluded a regional engagement with degree awarding institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing together public and private DAIs to drive Quality Assurance reforms.<\/p>\n
The nationwide Quality Excellence and Leadership Engagement initiative aims to embed a sustainable quality culture through leadership ownership, continuous improvement and strengthened institutional capacity. Participants welcomed the newly introduced Quality Assurance and Internal Quality Assurance frameworks as practical tools to improve academic standards, governance and student outcomes.<\/p>\n
For the first time, multiple HEC divisions including Academics, Research & Innovation Development (R&ID), Planning & Development (P&D) and Accreditation and Attestation (A&A) engaged jointly with institutions on a unified platform. This coordinated approach provided clarity on policy, enhanced coherence across reform measures and helped institutions align implementation strategies with national objectives for higher education.<\/p>\n
Institutional leaders, heads of Quality Enhancement Cells and academic managers actively discussed progress against QA targets, implementation challenges and best practices. The sessions fostered peer learning and regional collaboration, with DAIs sharing examples of institutional maturity and collective steps taken to mainstream quality processes into core academic and administrative systems.<\/p>\n
The closing ceremony in Peshawar featured Prof. Dr. Usman Ghani, Rector of the Institute of Management Sciences, as chief guest. He commended the Quality Assurance Agency for effectively engaging leadership across institutions and stressed that sustained improvement depends on collective leadership and institutional ownership of quality initiatives.<\/p>\n
CECOS University, Peshawar, was acknowledged for hosting and organizing the event, providing the institutional support necessary for a successful national-level engagement. Institutions and HEC officials left the forum with renewed confidence in the frameworks and a clear path for coordinated implementation across the region.<\/p>\n
