The tone of the event emphasized meaningful progress and the quiet but decisive role that the National Skills University has begun to play in shaping the country’s workforce and environmental priorities.

The university’s recent ranking as the country’s second-best sustainable federal university highlighted how environmental responsibility is being integrated alongside employability. For a public institution focused on technical and vocational education, this recognition reinforces a model that links sustainability, local economic needs, and global best practice.

International recognition has followed domestic progress. As Pakistan’s only Centre affiliated with UNESCO-UNEVOC and a designated European Centre of Vocational Excellence, National Skills University has become an important conduit between international standards in technical education and Pakistan’s labor market requirements, strengthening its reputation for skills-led reforms.

Expansion plans and institutional accreditation are underpinning that reputation. The Sarmad Tanveer Campus in Muridke extends access to skills-based education outside the capital, while Qualification Awarding Body status from NAVTTC gives the university the authority to issue nationally recognized credentials aligned with industry demand.

Outcomes for learners are already visible on the ground. The university reported that 133 graduates from its first graduating class of 2025 have entered the job market and several secured competitive scholarships for study abroad. Across the main and sub-campus in Muridke and Sheikhupura, more than 2,000 students received training in various trades, reflecting growing confidence in skills-based pathways to economic mobility.

NSU’s role in the NAVTTC–TAKAMOL Skills Verification Initiative amplified its national impact, with over 1,200 skilled professionals evaluated at the main campus before progressing to employment opportunities in Saudi Arabia. This work underlines how technical education at the National Skills University is supporting labor mobility and remittance-led growth.

The founding vice chancellor credited these milestones to the collective effort of faculty, administrators and technical staff, noting that the achievements mark a deeper dedication to quality vocational education and international collaboration. Certificates of appreciation presented to employees across all levels underscored the institution’s commitment to recognising the people who drive its progress and to advancing skills, sustainability and the dignity of work in Pakistan.

National Skills University advances skills training and sustainability with campus expansion, UNESCO-UNEVOC recognition and stronger workforce pathways.

[94

post-15872","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
["GET
