The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, in partnership with Sehat Kahani, inaugurated Pakistan’s first operational paperless, telemedicine-enabled Basic Healthcare Unit under the BHU digitalization program at Gokina in Islamabad.<\/p>\n
The new Digital BHU converts fragmented, paper-based workflows into a connected, accountable model of primary care that works in real public sector settings. Patients at the Gokina centre now receive structured digital registration, secure teleconsultations with qualified doctors and specialists, electronic medical records and digital prescriptions, with on-site nursing staff leading triage, facilitating consultations and coordinating follow-ups.<\/p>\n
Syed Mustafa Kamal<\/strong>, Federal Minister of National Health Services, highlighted the practical impact of the initiative: “Actions speak louder than words, and today our vision is visible on the ground. Through telemedicine, we are committed to filling Pakistan\u2019s healthcare gaps, using technology to ensure timely, quality care reaches every community, regardless of distance or limitations.”<\/p>\n Dr. Sara Saeed Khurram<\/strong>, Co-founder and CEO of Sehat Kahani, said the launch marks a new era for primary healthcare by integrating telemedicine, digital medical records and seamless follow-ups to enable communities to access qualified care without delay while empowering on-site staff to deliver coordinated services.<\/p>\n The Gokina telemedicine centre is equipped with Sehat Kahani\u2019s secure video consultations, electronic medical records, digital prescriptions and integrated pharmacy management systems.
