Leaders and workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party gathered at the office of party women leader Nasera Shaheen Kiyani Advocate in Qasimabad to mark the 98th birthday of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto with a commemorative cake cutting and speeches recalling his political legacy.<\/p>\n
Amjad Butt, PPP spokesperson in Germany, and Nasser Mir, former secretary information and deputy nazim, addressed the audience. They highlighted Bhutto’s transformational reforms during his four-year tenure and said those changes strengthened Pakistan’s institutions while mobilising marginalized classes. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto<\/em> was credited for instilling the idea that the source of power rests with the people and for steering consensus around the 1973 constitution, which established the federal structure, parliamentary system and fundamental rights.<\/p>\n Mian Khurram Rasool, media adviser to the chairman of the Senate, attended as a special guest and praised Bhutto’s political vision and leadership. Nasera Shaheen Kiyani Advocate spoke about how Bhutto’s thoughts gave ordinary Pakistanis political awareness to stand up for their rights, and noted that the PPP under Bilawal Bhutto Zardari continues to pursue the protection of basic public rights.<\/p>\n Party figures present included Punjab Council member Banaras Choudhry, former nazim contractor Jamil Akhtar Qureshi, former chairman Malik Asif Akbar, Nadeem Awan, Choudhry Tahir Ikram, Mian Altaf Butt, Rafaqat Ali Qadri, Khushal Khan, vice president Saeeda Bibi and Kosar Altaf Satti. The gathering joined the hosts in cutting the birthday cake for Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and paid tribute to his enduring political legacy.<\/p>\n Following the ceremony, hosts provided a communal meal for attendees.
