He said such measures are needed to ensure accountability and timely response to public complaints.<\/p>\n<p>During visits to inner-city neighbourhoods including Amarpura, Chah Sultan, Millat Colony, Waris Khan, Nai Abadi, Tatti Mohalla, Committee Mohalla and Dhok Elahi Bakhsh, he documented severely deteriorated sanitation conditions and said the Chief Sanitary Officer and other concerned officials were not present in their offices nor visible in the field.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Awan reported that citizens who visited the office of the Chief Sanitary Inspector found no staff on duty and no contact numbers displayed for follow-up. He warned that officers continuing to draw salaries while remaining at home are undermining the <em>Suthra Punjab<\/em> campaign from within the department.<\/p>\n<p>He added that cleanliness work often proceeds only after complaints are made, raising serious questions about administrative performance.
